Welcome.

Here is my ADSL settings page

Here is my list of free firewalls, antivirus and anti-malware products.

Here's where I work: itl.co.uk

Renamer.zip This is my file renaming tool. It renames files, removing characters that may not be safe to use on ftp and web servers. You may specify what characters are to be replaced, and what they are replaced by. It also forces all alphabetic characters to lower case.

ProbeFinder.zip This is a log file analyzer for logs produced by the NetGear DG824M. It allows you to load a log by various means (cut & paste, drag & drop, file open) and search it for multiple "hits". You can then do a whois on the suspect IP (courtesy of dnsstuff.com) and coalesce the occurences of hits from a particular IP. I've recently added port usage and text search capabilities and it's grown in size rather quickly. Suck it and see.

PMailBackup.zip This is a trivial copying tool. It is designed to be run automatically by Window's Scheduled Tasks manager. You can nominate a folder and optionally its sub-folders to be copied for backup purposes to another folder. It creates a log file to tell what's happened.

If you're a Windows user, try this: Photo Viewer

PhotoViewer screenshot

It's designed to show sets of photos, as a slide show. There are many photo viewers about, but most require installation and can seem unfriendly to those who are not fluent or confident with computers. This one is a self-contained, stand-alone executable and was designed to be copied to a cd-rom along with photos and then automatically invoked when the CD auto-runs. All the recipient should have to do is put the CD into their drive. All that you have to do is place the fully justified name of a graphic file on the command line and it will open the folder that picture is in and show all the .jpeg, .bmp, .ico and .gif files in that folder.

You may also add comments to each picture, which can show in the main viewing screen, or as pop-ups in the thumbnail browser.

I may write some help files too, one day.

Disclaimer: I accept absolutely no responsibility if anything you download from here breaks your computer.

Please note: the PhotoViewer program will make an entry in your registry. If you wish to delete this program, you might want to to go into regedit and remove its entries by hand, until such time as I work up an install/uninstall package. It's somewhere under HKEY_USERS - look for "jpegviewer".

This site has been designed to be very undemanding and should work in most browsers. I've tested it in IE6, Opera 7.11 and Mozilla Firebid and Firefox, so please let me know if it doesn't work well in your favourite browser.
